VR ROGUE-LITE CONCEPT

VOICE

Voice is a VR experience set in the human mind, where you play as a character called ‘Voice’ alongside personified senses like ‘scent’, ‘sight’, ‘hearing’, ‘taste’, and ‘touch’. The story follows Voice, who struggles to communicate due to a stutter, causing frustration among the other senses.

Initial ITERATION, CONCEPT AND BUILD

When I first had this idea, I wanted to create something that was both personal and abstract. I have experienced the challenges of having a stutter since I began speaking, and many people, unfortunately, do not fully understand what it is like to navigate life with this voice. This lack of awareness often leads to significant misunderstandings about how to effectively communicate with someone who stutters, which can create barriers in interaction and empathy.

ORIGINAL GAMEPLAY IDEAS

This idea aims to show different levels of difficulty, illustrating more intense situations with sentences that grow harder over time, from Novice to Hard. The demo is divided into four sections, each featuring longer sentences with increasing emotional weight as shown in the inner monologue. It starts with "Hello," progresses to "Very good, thank you," then "Stressful but pushing through," and ends with the challenging phrase "We broke up because." These simple sentences convey the demo's concept, which I plan to expand by experimenting with various fonts, colors, sizes, sounds, and voice intensity in the future.
